Hello,

You are suffering from ear problem in the left ear since 10 years. You have history of having operation done on it also. Presently, you are again having impaired hearing in the same affected ear. You also have ear discharge. Ear discharge commonly occurs due to infection or AOM. You can take a course of antibiotic like doxycline-100 mg for relief from watery discharge. You are suggested to get audiometry (audiology) test done to detect the degree of hearing loss that you are experiencing.

Hearing loss may be due to varies reasons like partial or complete injury of the ear drum (tympanum), otosclerosis, autoimmune inner ear disease, ototoxic medications, loud noise, neuroma, etc. The cause of hearing loss when detected will be treated with appropriate medicines. Your treating doctor may recommend hearing aid instead of another surgery, it depends on the diagnosis made. Long term conservative treatment may be required for certain hearing loss. Hearing loss takes a longer time to get healed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
