Suggest Treatment For Deviated Nasal Septum And Enlarged Adenoids

I am a 40 year old male who complains of dizzy spells (light headed) throughout the day. After tests with cardiologist tests show some high cholesterol and borderline diabetes, but he referred me to ENT specialist who said its because of Deviated Septum and enlarged Adenoids. He recommended strongly that I have an operation. I d like a second opinion.

Hi.
It is very true that a deviated nasal septum and adenoids can cause dizzy spells due to reduced oxygenation of the brain.
But before anything else you have to undergo studies for sleep apnea. This study will know whether you are having this problem related to the dizzy spell.
And also you have to undergo a CT scan of the nose, sinuses and throat to determine whether the surgery will be helping or not.
Thirdly, the other reasons of dizziness have to be ruled out nicely . If present you have to treat the basic disease and not undergo surgery till then.
Lastly you have to ask a direct question to the ENT , whether the surgery will be helping you or not.
