Hello and welcome to HCM
From your age and history of agricultural work, it is possible that its just a normal age related change.
Other common causes given your occupation maybe long duration of fungal infection of the nails. I do not know if you have any swelling or pain or infection of the surrounding skin.
Are you on any medications recently or have any signs of illness? Did you hurt your toenail recently. Is it involving all your nails or just a few? History of wearing tight fitting shoes?
These are some points to consider in case it persists.
For now you may take a weekly dose of fluconazole 150mg (once a week
) for 4 weeks and regularly apply amorolfine ointment over the affected nails daily . This treatment must b continued regularly for 2-3 months to help in case of fungal infection. Keep your feet clean and dry.
In case you see no improvement, you may visit a dermatologist and tests of the nail can be done to look for the exact cause whether infection or otherwise.
Hope this helps you.
