Suggest Treatment For Coughs, Vomiting And High Fever

My 13 year old daughter got a bad virus on July 14th, throwing up, not eating, then coughing started, dry wracking cough. Two trips to pediatrician s 1st says viral, it will get better in few days. Nope, Also the whites of her eyes, normally clear, turned yellow. Went back- they did a breathing treatment and persecribed albuterol inhaler and pulmicort inhaler. Next morning she s covered in itchy red swollen welts. My peds office says try cortiazone crème. I did not use inhaler s again. By Sat night angry rash all over her and told by on-call Dr. to go to ER. The ER dr gave Benadryl, Pepcid for the endless stomach pain and a Zpac antibiotic....Now it s Tuesday and she IS improving. I am worried about the yellow in the whites of her eyes. She s supposed to go to camp tomorrow for 2 weeks. Do I need to worry that this is symptom of something serious?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection.

I see that you have already taken the for the infection.

I suggest to check the liver enzymes and bilirubin level to check the cause of the yellow in the eyes.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contappct me again.

Kind regards!
