Suggest Treatment For Constant Sneezing And Runny Nose

This condition just start Monday , I'm sneezing maybe 20 times a day and my nose is constantly dripping.
My left nostril feels like something is deep inside. I'm not having trouble breathing out of either nostril unless
their draining. When I'm lying down I don't have much discharge. The "snott" is clear.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of constant sneezing and runny nose which is due to upper respiratory infection. It seems to be due to sinus infection leading to sinusitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get paranasal sinus x-ray done so as to detect level of infection and treatment can be started accordingly. You should avoid use of spicy, sharp oily and fried food substances. You should avoid cold carbonated beverages. Apply mist humidifiers in room. You should take throat soothing agents. You should take combination of antibiotic Levofloxacin along with antihistamine such as Levocetirizine. You should do warm saline rinses 3-4 times a day.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain continuous sneezing along with nasal dripping can be due to Allergic Rhinitis and the most common cause for it is allergic reaction..
The most common allergen that can cause this problem are pollens, animal danders, dust etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and he can advise you to take anti allergics like Allegra or cetrizine, dcongestants like Phenylephrine and steroid nasal sprays..
Try to stay away from dust and pollutants..
Steam inhalations can help..
You can also be advised allergic testing to rule out the exact cause of the allergy and avoid exposure to the same to avoid the reaction..
