Suggest Treatment For Colon Cancer

hi ,
My father (age 65) was having an early stage colon cancer for which he had an operation for colostomy.
but it didnt work for him as his large intenstine was affected after radiation. He got operated again
and had ileostomy. As per doctor's advice he had reverted back to colostomy after 3 months. but again the
colostomy did not work for him as it caused a whole in the bladder. he was operated again and had ileostomy.
He is facing a lot of inconvenience since its 1 year that he has been in ileostomy and
wants to go back to colostomy. but as per doctors it is risky.could you please suggest if anything can be done?

Hi

After hearing your history i would advise you to go for polypectomy and partial colectomy

This can be done in most cases by removing the polyp (polypectomy) or local excision through a colonoscope. Removing part of the colon (partial colectomy) may occasionally be needed if a tumor is too big to be removed by local excision.

For cancers not in a polyp, partial colectomy surgery to remove the section of colon that has cancer and nearby lymph nodes ─ is the standard treatment.

Surgery to remove the section of the colon containing the cancer along with nearby lymph nodes (partial colectomy) may be the only treatment needed.
meaning that some cancer may have been left behind.
