Suggest Treatment For Chronic Sinusitus

I have chronic sinusitus and had surgery in the past for nasal polyps. Some weeks ago I developed spots arond my chest and neck, also on my head. I had a VZV test carried out which was negative, however within a few days I had a sinus infection which is rare for me as it is usually pressure pain only. I have now been totally wiped out i. e. very tired and listless, severe facial and head pain sore throat mouth ulcers increased depression (already suffer depression and on citalopram 20 mg per day). I am due to return to work a week today and at present do not feel that I will be able to do my job properly.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of chronic sinusitis which is due to impaired immunity of body and leftover respiratory tract infection. Sometimes infection remains persistent and cause symptoms of sinus pain. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment as per that. You should get CT scan of sinuses done to get an exact diagnosis of the respiratory disease. You should take proper antibiotic course and avoid taking oily and spicy food and cold beverages. There are probable chances that you are suffering from an allergic problem or fibrotic diseases so you should start treatment after proper examination. You should avoid taking outside food. Sip on warm saline gargles.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes,
