Suggest Treatment For Chronic Rhinitis, Post Nasal Drip, Bronchitis And Eosinophilia

Maybe, I have had chronic rhinitis, post nasal drip, bronchitis and eosinophilia. Inability to sleep throughout the night has caused a flare up now. Fever 100 degrees, dark flem coughed up-probably post nasal drip, sore throat. Can I get well with sleep, tylenol, guifenisine, or do I have to have anti-biotic? Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If you have a fever of around 100 F or more for more than 3-4 days, you will need to see a doctor and have your lungs examined to see the need for antibiotics. Also, if you have chest pain, shortness of breath or are more fatigued than usual you will need to have a check to see the need for antibiotics. If you do not have the above symptoms, you can continue with the measures that you have already mentioned and you should feel better within a week from when the symptoms started. If you are not better in a week or you have any of the symptoms mentioned above then you will need a visit.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
