It s main function is to provide lubrication to lungs while breathing (inspiration and expiration). Pleurodesis means artificially we are reducing pleural space and join two pleural layers. It is commonly done to prevent recurrent pneumothorax. So Pleurodesis patients won t have lubricating effect while breathing and hence they feel pain and difficulty in deep inhalation. This is normal thing after Pleurodesis. No treatment is required for this. You can apply warm water pad on affected areas of chest for symptomatic relief. Hope I have solved your query.
