Suggest Treatment For Chest Infection And Recurring Congestion

I picked up a chest infection two months ago (I have asthma) and after 3 different doses of antibiotics and 1 dose of prednisone, the heavy congestion keeps coming back (with fatigue).
I eat healthy and I'm generally in good shape and not overweight.
I don't know what else I can do...any suggestions?

Thanks

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Asthma patients are prone for recurrent chest infection. This is due to poor lung defense.
In your case, I advice sputum culture and sensitivity report.
Culture will isolate the causative organism and sensitivity report will guide about appropriate effective antibiotic therapy.
By this we can fasten the recovery and prevent drug resistance.
Also get done adult Pulmonary vaccination with pneumococcal and Influenza vaccines. This will prevent recurrent lung infection.
Mucolytic, expectorant and antioxidants drugs are also effective.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
