Suggest Treatment For Bruise Ribs

Hi I fractured 2 ribs and bruised my right upper abdomen 2 weeks ago after a fall. In the past 2 days I have been burping constantly with increased pain under my right upper ribs. Could this be related to my fracture, or is it more likely to be gastrointestinal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to gastroesophageal reflux disease. I suggest using antacids such as Maalox three times a day. Meanwhile, in case of pain I suggest using Acetaminophen three times a day. I also suggest ti use cold compresses for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
