Dear Sir, My sister suffered a brain hemorrage and now is still in a coma after 72 hours. Doctors said pupil in one eye is responsive and the other is not. Her body is able to maintain blood pressure and her internal organs are functioning normally. She is taking one breath by herself while the remaining 14 is being done through the machine. Do you think there is still hope of survival or is she brain dead?
hello. I have read your message. The condition does sound serious. However, there are other tests that need to be done before saying the patient is brain dead. Just pupil is not enough. Can you tell us the exact location of the bleed? And the size of the bleed? Better still, if possible, upload the images of the scan. Best of luck. Awaiting your response. Dr S Mittal
