Suggest Treatment For Bladder Infection And Swollen Ankles

I'm a 72 female in good health--had blood tests this summer and all were good--with help from meds for high blood pressure and others. For the past two months I've had constant bladder infections and constant swollen ankles. I've just moved, although my previous urologist has given me scripts for the UTIS. I'm now on two Doxycycline a day, That was because of a UA two months ago. I'm having to use AZO once or twice most days. Really, though, the swollen ankles are a bigger concern for me. I've just moved to another state and need to change insurance providers. I appreciate anything you can tell me! Jean Horton, Seattle,WA

Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Recurrent urinary tract infection can damage the kidneys, causing derangement in its function and structure.
This can lead to chronic kidney disease, leading to swelling in body, especially ankles along with other symptoms.
Other causes of swollen ankles are heart disease and liver disease.
I will suggest you to consult a physician for a detailed examination, investigations to confirm the diagnosis and get appropriate treatment timely.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
