Suggest Treatment For Bilateral Parenchymal Disease

My daughter had a urinary tract infection last July, she was given antibiotics for this. After her treatment, she still complained of pain, so she was asked to do a urinalysis again and an ultrasound. the results of her ultrasound says that she has bilateral parenchymal disease. So, she was given antiobiotics for propylaxis and was under observation. She was having her urinalysis every week. out of 12 urinalysis over a period of time, 2 came out positive(++) of albumin but no bacteria. She has no urine reflux. Her height and weight are within normal range and her creatinin results are normal. She complains of tummy aches every now and then. Her recent ultrasound dated Sept 18 still says that she has bilateral parenchymal disease. What do you make of this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, issue of your daughter sounds to be related to kidney glomeruli functioning most likely either from a primary kidney problem or secondary to systemic disturbances of some sort.
* After primary work up with the basic lab reports and radiology, in my clinic, I do recommend a kidney biopsy for the final diagnosis and further care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
