Suggest Treatment For Autonomic Dysreflexia And Rashes All Over The Body

My husband had his bladder botoxed. Long story short is was given improper discharge instructions which has resulted in him having autonomic dysreflexia (fever and elevated blood pressure), apple cider colored urine, foamy urine, and rash all over his body. His urologist gave him Cipro yesterday, but he is still not doing well. He is a walkable c4 c5 c6 quadriplegic. Should I give the Cipro more time or should he go to ER

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The autonomic dysreflexia and rashes all over the body indicate disturbances with tone of the bladder and side effect of drugs affecting systemic way rather than mere simple urinary infection. A systemic approach of examination and possible indwelling catheter, intravenous antibiotics as culture sensitivity report are mandatory in most of the cases.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
