Suggest Treatment For Anxiety

I am a 42 year old woman who has suffered from panic attacks since I was 27. My very first attack landed me in ICU. I had numerous trips to the ER in the past. Now, I'm able to mentall control the attack. Unfortunately, my body still suffers from symptoms. They are similar to a heart attack. Now that I'm older the pains of a panic attack or much more severe. Along with the stress. Does the anxiety ever go away?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi.

I understand your concern.

Anxiety or panic attack is like heart attack but has psychological origin.

Stress can cause this and requires relaxation and proper rest.

It can be treated with medicine like combination of SSRI and anxiolytic.

In SSRI sertraline / peroxetine / escitalopram in low dose will be useful.

Anxiolytic like clonazepam and lorazepam can also helpful.

Meditations and exercise like progressive muscle Relaxations and deep breathing can help.

Take Proper sleep and diet.

Consult psychiatrist for further assistance.
Glad to help you further.
Thank you.
