i have been having problem with acne for about nearly a year now. and i felt very tired everytime i woke up regardless how many hours i slept. and each sleep always contains dream after dream and now i am frustrated as no matter how i try to relax, taking vitamin supplement, my face acne is getting bad to worse what do i do? friend suggested my hormone is imbalance and asking me to seek doc advise?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Having acne problem for a long time would require evaluation and proper management. It could be a manifestation of hyperandrogenism, which is one of the primary symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Hence, kindly get your FSH, LH levels tested in blood sample, along with an ultrasound scan of abdomen and pelvis. In case it is due to PCOS, you need to take antiandrogenic treatment like birth control pills or spironolactone. Locally, you can overcome the lesions by washing it with mild soap solution and application of Clindamycin cream and Retinoic acid cream over the lesions after drying.
