Suggest Treatment For Acne On The Face

Hello, Doctor. I m an 18 year old girl. I have acne on my cheeks and a doctor advised me to use Supatret C cream at night every day. It has been 4 days since I started using it and it has dried out my face badly and has made my skin so sensitive that I can t even apply moisturizer to decrease the dryness. If I apply the moisturizer, my skin starts burning. What should I do? Should I continue using this cream?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Acne is a disease of the hair follicles of the face, chest, and back that affects almost all teenagers during puberty. Acne occurs when sebaceous glands attached to the hair follicles are stimulated at the time of puberty or due to other hormonal changes. Acne usually improves around the age of 20, but may persist into adulthood. Permanent scarring may occur.
Advice
1.     Immediately stop Supatret C gel
2.     Apply Clindac – A gel at bed time for 1 month
3.     Capsule Doxy – 1 (doxycycline 50 mg) daily per oral after meal for 1 month
4.     Have a good sleep of 8 hours and drink 3 – 4 liters of water daily
5.     Do not squeeze pimples as it will cause scarring
6.     Try to avoid use of unbranded cosmetics unnecessarily
7.      Have patience - any treatment of acne may take time to start showing effect
Thanks
