Acne commonly resolves with post-acne hyperpigmentation.
While pigmentation can be managed with skin lightening agents like hydroquinone, kojic acid, glycolic acid etc but the concern in most acne patients is either irritation Or formation of new acne, which in turn form new marks.
While for acne you could use topicals like benzoyl peroxide OR clindamycin gel during day time.
At night you could use a topical retinoid like Adapalene Or Azaleic acid. Topical retinoids are not only comedolytic but they are also skin lightening agents, thereby decreasing the post-acne hyperpigmentation.
You could also opt for chemical peeling sessions from a dermatologist. Chemical peels like glycolic acid peels and Kojic acid peels are very effective for fading away post-acne hyperpigmentation
