Suggest Treatment For Acne All Over Face

I have had rosacea for over 20 years dealing with redness, but under control with a topical cream from my dermatologist that works well. The last 4 days I have broken out with acne-like pimples all over my cheeks & nose & my face is very red, itchy. I can't think of anything I have done differently to cause this & practily over nite.

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

Acne and rosacea can coexist with each other. If I was the treating dermatologist I would have started you on oral antibiotics e.g doxycycline or azithromycin for inflammatory acne lesions. Antibiotics can be continued for a few weeks till the activity is under control. Topical anti acne gel e.g clindamycin gel can be used twice daily, only over acne lesions.

A gentle cleanser like cetaphil cleansing lotion can be used for cleansing.
