Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a red rash like thing on my face. It started about two weeks ago. It s in the corner of my nose on my left side. It runs from the top of my lip up to my nose. It does not itch unless I put moisturizer on it and it burns. It s red and won t go away. What is it and what should I do?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have red rash on the face which seems to be that fact that you are being exposed and re exposed to the allergen and this is the reason that the allergic reaction is persisting. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take proper course of antihistamine drug along with short course of oral corticosteroids after proper prescription. Exfoliate your skin once in a week to remove the dead skin. Drink plenty of water. Wash face with face wash containing salicylic acid twice a day and apply cream containing azelaic acid. If condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist again for proper diagnosis and to rule out any underlying condition . Doctor may prescribe isotretinoin , steroid ointment or antibiotics course. Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
