Suggest Treatment For A Painful Bump On The Buttock

good afternoon, I have a bump located at the top of my butt crack that is very tender and sensitive whenever i sit down, lay down on my back, and even while walking. it does not look red and there is only some very mild swelling when looking at it. it does produce quite a bit of heat so i know its some kind of infection. is this something that i should get looked at or am i ok to just use rubbing alcohol and heat?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of painful bump on the buttock which occurs when there is bacterial infection of hair follicles leading to folliculitis and when clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum, dead skin and bacteria get infected. Need not to worry. Till now you should apply aloe vera gel and apply betnovate cream twice a day. I would suggest you to maintain environment dry and clean. You should wear loose clothes. You should consult dermatologist once and get it examined. You can go for antibiotics such as clindamycin, corticosteroid ointment, hydroquinone, laser therapy for bump on buttock only after doctors prescription. Do not scratch these bumps as they will get infected , leave acne marks.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
