Hello,
I read carefully your report.
The first step after diagnosing a thyroid cyst should be the examination of the thyroid hormones (TSH and FT4). If hyperthyroidism is confirmed than treatment should be started.
If their level results to be within the normal ranges a scintiscan is recommended and than a Fine needle biopsy aspiration if the nodule results to be cold.
If you have symptoms of compression of the adjacent structures (cough, difficulty in swallowing) or if the nodule results to be malignant in Fine needle aspiration than thyroidectomy is recommended.
Hope the information is helpful.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
