Suggest Treatment For A Bump Near The Pierced Site On Ear

Hi, I have had a helix piercing done roughly 3 months ago and after having to remove the piercing, switching the jewlerly a few times a small bump on the front hole has appeared on top of the jewlerly. It does leak pus and blood and does form a crust and can be painful, it is the same colour as my skin. I have been treating it with sea salt soaks and savlon for a couple if weeks now and it had reduced in size slightly but that is it. I am currently on a immune suppressant, could this be affecting the healing process and what can I do to improve this faster.

hello

Yes immune suppression wil definitely delay the healing and the bump may need to be surgically drained for complete relief. please meet your doctor as you will need a course of antibiotics also. you can continue cleaning with sea salt soaks , meanwhile i would also like you to apply mupirocin ointment over the bump instead of savlon as it will help reduce the infection.

Take care
