Suggest Treatment For PCOS When On Sodium Valproate
Hi I m 26 yrs got married a year before. I was on sodium valproate for past 10 yrs due to which I m also suffering from PCOS. To regulate my periods I m taking duphaston and now I want to conceive so kindly guide me abt the treatment for the same. My valproate dose is decreasing nd most probably will end in a years time

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Treatment of infertility in pros patient is done stepwise, with next step to be followed when the previous one fails :
1. Ovulation induction by drugs
2. Intrauterine insemination
3. In vitro fertilization
I would suggest you to get yourself switched over to a safer antiepileptics before planning conception and do start taking folic acid tablet.
