Suggest Treatment For Gilbert S Syndrome

First, my triglycerides were 252 when tested this week, fasting. Second, my Belirubin total was 2.1, however I was diagnosed with Gilbert s Syndrome a few years ago. I have only one kidney, due to a horseback accident when I was 12, some 46 years ago. I am rarely sick, and enjoy very good overall health. I have always been a non smoker, and a light social drinker. I eat correctly and take good care of my self. Do you see and concerns? Thank-you!

Hi,

Gilbert's syndrome is a genetic disorder usually diagnosed accidentally. It is a condition in which bilirubin formed from the destruction of old red blood cells not get metabolized and excreted. In this disorder, the enzyme for breaking down bilirubin is low. Occasional bilirubin rise will settle without any active intervention.

Low calorie diet, strenuous exercise, stress will increase the bilirubin level. Avoiding low calorie diet, stress management and mild physical activity will prevent this condition. Triglycerides can be reduced with balanced diet and moderate physical activity.
