Suggest The Medicatiict Pulseon For Irrad

i have recently gone into atrial-fibrilation and spent 9 days in a hospital. Came home and have had home health care services. I also came home taking two new pills-Sotalol to help with the keep heart regular and Xarelto-blood thinner.

As of this past Sunday my pulse has gone irradict. The doctors office was called twice by the home health care nurse. My pulse ranges on an oximeter 98-96 oxygen with oxygen on and the pulse jumps anywhere from 113 to 53.

Is this normal and should I be seeing the doctor or calling 911? I really don't understand what is going on.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Dear patient,

I suspect this is a recurrence of the atrial fibrillation. If there are no major symptoms of shortness of breath, chest pain, uncomfortable palpitations, fainting or near fainting, I recommend just letting your physician know so that he may consider an increase in the dose of sotalol. Medications to control A-fib are effective only 50 to 60% of the time; keep on taking your blood thinner.

Hope this helps, yours truly,
