Hi,

Folitrax is a brand name for methotrexate, which is an immunosuppressant and antifolate drug used to treat various conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and certain types of cancer. It works by inhibiting the growth of certain cells, including immune cells and cancer cells.

As with any medication, there are potential side effects associated with the use of folitrax. Some common side effects of folitrax include:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Diarrhea
- Mouth sores
- Fatigue
- Hair loss
- Skin rash or itching
- Headache

The more serious side effects (which are still less common) are:
- Bone marrow suppression
- Liver damage
- Lung damage
- Kidney damage
- Increased risk of infection
- Increased risk of cancer

It is important to follow the dosage and instructions provided by the prescribing doctor and to report any side effects or concerns to the doctor immediately. In addition, regular blood tests and monitoring may be necessary to check for any potential side effects.

If you require a personalized response, kindly use the Ask A Doctor service and post a follow-up. Take care. Hope I have answered your question.
