Suggest Remedy For Swollen Tonsils

I am a 37 year of female I reside in the Caribbean, my problem is my tonsils have been swollen for over a week now. I was given a prescription for Zithromax to treat the bacterial infection but it did not work. Now I still have the swollen tonsils and a uncomfortable feeling at the back of my tongue, like something is stuck there. I don't have much pain and there is also some white spots on my tonsils. This is making me uncomfortable please advise me what to do.Jacqui
