Suggest Remedy For Stomach Gas Causing Lightheadedness
I am a type 1 diabetic. When I eat or drink I will always develope stomach gas and gas in my intestines. Ocassionally when the stomach gas is very active I will get a light headed feeling for just a few seconds. I recognize these symptoms and have learned to start burping and raise the gas. This will stop the light headed feelings. The question is: what causes the gas and what can I do about it? The doctors have done upper and lower GI tests, barium drinking tests, all to no avail. If you have a solution I would be really happy. thanks Les
Based on the history you have shared, you are suffering from diabetic gastropathy and this your digestive system is working slow so the food you eat takes longer to digest and thus causing discomfort. I would recommend you to have a very tight glucose control, take walk after meals and get gaviscon. If it is getting worse then you would need medicine to increase the motility of intertines like domperidone.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
