My daughter ( grown) had surgery last week. She is having trouble with a spreading bruise from an IV placement. She has been getting conflicting advice. Hot or Cold pack? Is the spreading of the bruise dangerous? She has very small children that need tending. What can you tell me about this? I saw an old woman who had spreading bruises to the point that she died. I don't want to get into a panic or cause one.
