Suggest Remedy For Sore Throat, Foamy Saliva And Swollen Lymph Nodes In A Child

Hello. My 9 years old has severe sore throat for 3days with very foamy saliva, swollen lymphs on both sides of the neck, no fever, no coughing, only throat pain and weird voice as if due to sinus, but she has no actual nose congestion. She also has been snoring when sleeping. Can it be due to airway obstruction in her throat, b/c her throat seems swollen alot? Thank you!!!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of sore throat, foamy saliva and swollen lymph nodes which are symptoms of strep throat which is a bacterial infection. Need not to panic about it. Do warm saline gargles. Sip on luke warm water. Hot milk with a pinch of turmeric boiled with it at bedtime for 2-3 days as it has antimicrobial action. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit pediatrician once and get it examined. Maintain oral hygiene. Take proper course of antibiotics. Get blood tests done if required. Antibiotics are first line of treatment option in this case. In case of mild fever you can take Calpol or paracetamol for relief as well as it will relieve throat pain too.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
