Hi,Dear,Thanks for your query to HCM.
Dear I read your query and reviewed it with context to your query facts.
I understood your health concerns and feel Concerned about them.

Based on the facts of your query, you seem to suffer from-
Venus TOS (Thorasic Outlet Syndrome).Paget-Von Shroetter Syndrome
which needs immediate treatment to avoid development and worsening of effort ( Subclavian-Axillary) Thrombosis

Remedy-
Consult Surgeon and Chest surgeon.
Get X-ray Skull / CT Thorasic Outlet with shoulder area.
Fix the cause of the Venus TOS-as Scalene Anticus/ Extra Cervical Rib/ Fractured Clavicle with reduction in the free space around clavicle/Long , or extended Transverse processes of Cervical Vertebra/ pectoralis minor Syndrome which is causing Subclavian Compression Syndrome in your case.
Correction of the Cause by Surgical procedure would resolve this prominence of vein on left side of chest and shoulder in your father's case.

Blood thiners with Coumadin and thrombolytic treatment is needed in some cases.
Para-clavicular / or trans axillary excision of the cervical rib / or
Patch angioplasty of the subclavian vein for direct venous reconstruction/ or balloon angioplasty of the occluded subclavian vein may be decided after assessment of your father's case from a Chest Surgeon.

Hope this reply would help you to plan further treatment with your doctors there.

Welcome for any further query in this regard.

Good Day!!
