Suggest Remedy For Panic Attacks

My boyfriend was sleeping last night when all of a sudden he started trembling and getting cold sweats.. i woke him up and it all went fine in a minute or so... he said it was probably because it was hot in the room...but is this a sleep panic attack? He has happened to get day panic attacks several times too... Could you please tell me what should be done about this? Is it a serious problem?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Dear User,
Thanks for trusting health care magic.
Going by your description, it seems that your boyfriend has panic disorder although panic attacks can also be a part of depression. It is not a very serious problem, but it causes a great distress to the patient. So we prefer treating it with medications with very good results. In my practice, I prefer medications like Paroxetine 25-37.5 mg/day). You may advice your boyfriend to consult a psychiatrist and discuss about this.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you. You may rate the answer for me.
