Suggest Remedy For Painful Infected Blister On Foot
I got what I thought was a blister on my foot it started small but then got bigger and it was very hard to walk so yesterday I decided to pop it. I know probably not the best idea but when I did there was like a white milky liquid that came out and it felt a little better. But now it really hurts the fluid is back and I have a red line going up my foot. Should I go to the ER or is there anything I can do at home?
Hello and thank you for the question!. Usually the majority part of the blisters heal on their on without any treatment. Most blisters are filled with a clear fluid called serum or plasma but sometimes are filled with blood or with pus (if they become infected).Home treatment may help decrease pain, prevent infection. If a blister is large and painful, it may be best to drain it. Here is a safe method you can do at home:Wipe a needle with rubbing alcohol and gently puncture the edge of the blister. Press the fluid in the blister toward the hole so it can drain out. But you must be very careful doing this procedures. You should pay attention to any of this symptoms during home treatment: The symptoms you had before do not improve, or they become more severe or A skin infection develops. In any of this cases you SHOULD go to the ER for specified treatment. Best regards!
