Suggest Remedy For Nausea, Vomiting, Muscle Cramps, Fatigue And Lower Back Pain Caused By Intake Of Fenofibrate

I have side effects from Fenofibrate. I have been sick for 3 1/2 weeks, the first blood test showed kidney function is affected. I do not have the results for the last test. The nause, vomiting, muscle cramps, tiredness, lower back pain, weakness continues on and off. I never know how I will feel in 2 or 3 hours. Occasionally I feel almost normal.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The good news is that increase in creatinine ( effect on the kidney )is completely reversible so there would be no long term changes.

Though it would have increased the creatinine, it actually reduces the leakage of protein from the kidneys and in some persons, also help with GFR (how the kidney filters).

This means , as it relates to kidney function and fenofibrate, you should be ok.

In terms of the other effects however, it would be best to discontinue the medication if you are still using it.
Fenofibrate has a half life of 20 hours. The half life of a medication is the time it takes for the amount of drug in the body to decrease by half.

It can take 3 to 5 half lives for a medication to be mostly eliminated. This means that it can take 30 to 100 hours ( just over a day to 4 days), for it to be eliminated.

If this time has passed since you stopped the medication, you may need to seek another cause for your symptoms.

I hope this helps
