Suggest Remedy For Missed Periods

I am on day 67 of my cycle. I had my paragaurd removed on June 11,2014. My last period was June 29, 2014, but I have not had a positive pregnancy test nor have I had any signs of my period. I was diagnoised and treated for a blood infection and kidney infection last month, but other than that nothing.

Hi,

Normally, non-hormonal IUD like Paragard, should not have much effects on your menstrual cycle, after these are removed, as usually there is no change in your hormonal level with their removal. However, in some cases, these may have some effects on the periods and your periods may be heavy or light, shortened or enlarged, irregular and even absence of period. These changes may be present, as there may be decreased level of progesterone due to Paragard in some cases.

Fortunately, these changes in the periods are usually self limiting and do not require any specific treatment. In my opinion, presence of kidney infection and its treatment should not have any effect on the periods after Paragard removal. However, if the abnormality in the periods including absence of periods is present even after 3 months or so, you are advised to see your doctor about this and treatment done accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
