Suggest Remedy For Humming In Ears After Flying

I became ill with an sinus infection while visiting my son. It was so severe I had to cut my vacation short and fly home. Did not have a direct flight, which meant I had 2 descents and upon each one I experienced severe pain and pressure in both ears. Went to my PCP the next day and was dx. with same and prescribed Z-pak. Also, severe bloodshot ears and nose. Finished Z-pak and now left with continual humming in my right ear for 2 weeks..will this go away? I was told it might be permanent! Should I see and ENT or refill my Z-pak? Thank you.

Welcome to health care magic forum,

We usually advice patients to avoid flights during a sinus infection or upper respiratory tract infections.

Because it cause negative pressure and cause et tube block and serous fluid in ear.

That may lead to tinnitus (ringing sensation) and hearing loss.

you put a xylometazoline nasal drop 3times and take antihistamines like levocetrizine drugs for a period od 7-10 days. If no relief than see a ent specialist to do the PTA & IMPEDENCE and x-pns.

thanks
