Suggest Remedy For Eye Contact With Bleach

Hi my wife got bleach in both her eyes we flooded her eyes for 15 to 20 minutes. Then used saline solution for a eye wash as well. Her eyes still sting a little. Anything else we should do? What should she expect by morning. Her vision seems to be fine. Thanks, Don

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that your wife is having irritation of the eyes following contact with bleach. Since she has washed her eyes with saline the immediate first aid is done.
The next treatment option depends on the extent of damage caused by exposure to bleach. For irritation you can use artificial tears eye drops and antibiotic eye drops to prevent secondary infection. Since if at all there is corneal damage it requires treatment under supervision of a Ophthalmologist, I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.

Hope this is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
With regards
