I am 31 weeks pregnant. I have been having problems with bleeding during my pregnancy and have been regular.y monitored and I ve been told I have had a normal healthy pregnancy. A couple weeks ago I started having sharp pains in my stomach and was told that I have a herniated bellybutton and I was placed on bed rest. I just got called before the holidays with a diagnosis of E coli. I m concerened because when I went to pick up my prescription for Macrobid. The pharmasicist mentioned this usually not perscribed for women in thier third trimested. I was concerned because I am low iron and problems wih anemia and the pharmacist mentioned it may cause the infant to become anemic. I am unable to reach my doctor. I am wondering whether I should take the medication and clean up this infection before my next visit.
