Hello,

You are having discomfort while climbing stairs. You had cardio tests and angiography done for heart and it came clear. You are suggested to get lipid function test, stress test and Holter test done to stay on the safer side. If developing CAD, coronary artery disease is detected you will be accordingly treated.

If obese, maintain healthy weight, do regular walking. Avoid taking spicy, oily food, trans fat, full fat dairy products, red meat, etc. Take boiled home made nutritious food cooked in olive oil. Avoid all addictions like alcohol, smoking, drugs and other activities.

Other medical condition that can cause discomfort in climbing stairs is PAD and deep vein thrombosis (DVT), it affects the blood circulation in the body and hence weakness. DVT and PAD are two conditions that may make exercising, daily activities, and climbing stairs close to impossible.

Get clinically examined by a GP, get required blood tests and investigations done. If PAD or DVT is confirmed then treatment will be started. Nexito 10, prescribed by your treating doctor is Escitalopram Oxalate (10mg).

It is prescribed to treat depression and other mental health conditions like anxiety, panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. You can talk about the medicine prescribed to you with your treating doctor who has prescribed it. You have not mentioned here that you are suffering from depression.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
