Suggest Remedy For Difficulty In Falling Asleep While On Levothyroxine

I am a 69 year old woman taking levothyroxine. I have difficulty staying asleep at night and am about 10 over weight which I cannot lose an ounce. I have tried sleeping aids they help to put me to sleep which I do not have any trouble with but I still get up through the night. I am sleeping about 3 -4 hours a night. Can You telll me something to help. Iris

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If you are experiencing difficulty with weight, then you may want to have your thyroid hormone levels checked to make sure that they are within normal range.
If low, can cause weight gain and your medication may need to be increased.

Sleeping problems are common, there are certain techniques called sleep hygiene that may help you.
The sleep hygiene techniques are available online and you can implement them to see if they help.

If there is no change, then you may need to consider seeing your doctor for other medication

I hope this helps
