Suggest Remedy For Delayed Periods

hi. i am a 29 year old 65kg first time user of combined oral contraceptives(femiplan pills). there is no history of cardiovascular disease or cancer in my family but there is a history of fibroids including my mum and 3 out of her 4 sisters as well as hypertension from my dads side of the family. i have two children aged 18mths and 4yrs. i was previously on the iud(copper t) which failed and i concieved while it was stil inutro. it was removed at abt 5mths into my pregnancy and there were no serious side effects at all even no bleeding. my worry gravitates about the fact that i have a 35 day menstrual cycle not a 28 day like most people so my question is if my period does not come in the 7 day break what do i do? do i keep taking the pills or wait another 7 days for my period to appear? the pack said that for a first time user it was ok to start the pack anywhere between day 1-7 and i started it in day 7. i am hoping it worked well and i did not concieve again but i cant get over the 28 day pack and my 35 day cycle.. please advise me on whether i should continue taking this pills or another type. am very sensitive to hormonal methods hence the iud but am at a loss now...help!
