Suggest Remedy For Chronic Cough

Hi. I have chronic cough and mucus only in the morning and evening. I've been hacking for more than a month now. I have taken cough syrup and antibiotics but the phlegm is still there, i feel like it is only coming from my throat and not from my lungs.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
You are having chronic cough (cough for more than 2 weeks).
Common causes for chronic cough with expectoration are
1. Bronchitis
2. Lung infection.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. Chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection.
3. PFT is must for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
You may need inhaled bronchodilator and inhaled corticosteroids (ICS).
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Better to first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
