Suggest Remedy For Bumps In Labia

I have a bumb on my labia. Its small and smooth it comes and goes in the same spot. Sometimes filled with clearish fluid only once a little blood came out when squeezed. I am 20 and sexually active. I have not been careless but my ex boyfriend cheated a lot and I didn t use protection with him. Is this a sign of an STD?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hi,

According to your description, there is the possibility of Bartholin cyst leading to an abscess.

Usually, Bartholin gland lies between upper two thirds and lower one-third of labia minora.

When the duct of the gland gets obstructed that will form a cyst when the fluid in the cyst gets infected it will form an abscess.

As you are having the cystic lesion recurrently better to consult your gynecologist once get examined to find out the exact cause of the problem. Depending on the clinical findings and progression of the problem, treatment can be planned accordingly.

Antibiotics can help, sometimes marsupialization or excision of the cyst may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
