Suggest Remedy For Back Pain With Fever

Hi,
I injured my back playing sports. Severe back pain with a fever that developed a week later that lasted a few days. A month later, my back pain is not as bad but now the fever has returned for the past 4 days. I take ibuprofen for both the back pain and the fever, but as soon as the meds wear off, both the milder back ache and the fever return. Why is this taking so long to heal and why the fever. I had a urine and blood work done 2 weeks ago and everthing came back normal. Please help!
