Suggest Remedy For A Mass In The Pituitary Gland

My daughter, age 26, was diagnosed a few days ago, with a mass on her pituitary gland. She has MANY medical issues, both physical and psychological. That particular dr. visit was for a lactating and enlarged breast, without pregnancy. She has taken a LOT of pregnancy tests over the last 4 or 6 yrs. Today she had blood work, tomorrow she is seeing an eye specialist. She just said she has Intranasal bleeding from her nose down her throat. And she has kidney issues. What can you tell me about the pituitary tumor? How long might the blood work results take? Any advice? Any questions?

Hello,
I have gone carefully through your report and I can understand your concerns regarding to your daughter's situation.
From your description I can understand that she is diagnosed with prolactinoma (a tumor of the pituitary gland that secretes prolactin).
I would like to know the report of the MRI of the head and the level of prolactin ( it may take 3 to 4 days to be examined). The tumor secreting prolactin is benign in general, but the treatment strategy depends by the dimensions of the tumor in MRI and the level of prolactin.
If it is a large tumor (over 1 cm) the surgical remove (by transphenoidal way, without opening the cranium) is suggested. If the tumor is under 1 cm is treated with oral tablets.
Hope the information will help.

Kind regards,
Dr.M.guni
