I have a serious girlfriend of 5 years and looking to get married to her soon. 2 days ago I missed an airplane flight and got stranded overnight, had too many drinks at the hotel bar, and ended up with a girl who appeared to have genital warts all over. We did not have sexual intercourse but there may have been some accidental contact. I did, however give her oral sex and a hand job. It is my understanding the girl was also in a monogomous relationship. I am concerned about my risk of contracting the hpv and passing it on to my girlfriend. I am also extremely concerned about protecting my relationship with my girlfriend. Is there any proactive steps I should be taking at this point?
Hello and welcome to HCM, There is a good possibility that you would have contracted HPV infection. HPV infection gets transmitted by unprotected sex. Practicing protected sex is the only way to prevent the infection. Vaccination with anti HPV vaccine can be taken, however, the vaccine is not effective in treating the infection which is already contracted. In-order to know the status of HPV infection you can get PCR for HPV infection.
