Burning skin on hands between fingers and on palms. Small hive like bumps around base of fingers palms and wrists. Symptoms went away overnight then suddenly reappeared worse in the late afternoon. No contact with chemicals lotions etc or strange foods eaten. What can it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The most common reasons would be an allergic reaction (contact with an agent- since there were no new creams should consider if there was any contact with any plants).

It can also occur as a result of an infection such as shingles.

If there is no improvement or worsening occurs, then you should be seen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
