Suggest Remedies For Herpes Breakout
Hi I recently found out I had herpes. My doctor didn't tell me much about it. He only prescribed me Acyclovir 400MG and I'm taking it 3 times a day. I've also done research and saw there is other "vitamins" that can be take to help prevent or heal and outbreak. I currently have an out break and this is what I just took. 2000MG L-Lysine, 50MG Zinc, 500MG C chewable, 2 Echinacea whole herbs, and 1 B50 vitamin B-complex. Is there anything else I should add to that? Or possibly anything to take out? Any tips or information would be of great help. Thank you

Vitamins and antioxidants and amino acids can increase the immunity of the body. But they are not fool proof method for prevention of recurrence of HSV infection. There are some other immuno-stimulent drugs like Levamisole, tried with not much success.
If you are having frequent recurrences then suppressive drug with low dose of Acylovir for 6- 12 months can be tried.
